1 — "My WilsonWeb" link
This is a new area within WilsonWeb that will allow users to create
profiles (sub accounts) within the main library/school account. Profiles
are based upon an email address. Any user with a valid email address
will have the ability to create and maintain a profile area within the
interface. From this location the user can view current Search History
results, plus view previously saved searches and alerts that have been
saved into this account. New emailed alerts and RSS Feed alerts may be
created.

2 — RSS feed
Users will first register to set up their account/profile (“My WilsonWeb”).
They will then have the ability to save RSS alerts into their “My
WilsonWeb” account and retrieve alerts via RSS feeds. They will include
any new records that match the user’s alert query. The RSS link will be
on the results page and on the Search History page.

3 — Accessing WilsonWeb through the Journal
Directory from a referring page, identifying the customer
This will permit customers using referring pages to have the added
flexibility of accessing WilsonWeb through the Journal Directory
display.
4 — Expanded selections for further limiting results
("New Search by Subject," "Narrow These Results," and "Recent Searches") by
selected database on the search results page
Newly expanded Content Discovery Keys are now possible from the search
results page. Now users can launch a new focused search in the database
from actual subject listed in the New Search by Subject area. These are the most
frequently appearing subjects found in the search results. It is also
possible to narrow search results (within the existing results) By
Author, By Subject, By Publication Year, and By Document Type, if desired. There is also a new listing for
“Recent Searches” which allow a user to back track, or recall previous
searches within the database.

5 — A new limiter for Non-Peer Reviewed in
bibliographic databases
For bibliographic databases, we have expanded the limiter choices to
include “Non-Peer Reviewed.” This will return results that do not
include “peer-reviewed” journals, providing another perspective of a
topic for researchers.

6 — Display of component Thesauri of core files when
the OmniFile database's Thesaurus is selected
The OmniFile database includes the core files listed below. The
Thesaurus will now provide tabs for any “shared” subject heading between
these core databases, allowing the user to toggle between viewing
primary subjects (including broader, narrower and/or used for terms, as
available) for each database.
The 7 seven tabs are: OmniFile Full Text, Business Full Text, Education
Full Text, General Science Full Text, Humanities Full Text, Readers’
Guide Full Text, and Social Sciences Full Text.

7 — Interface language dropdown choices for the user
are now possible for the top and bottom navigational bars
Expanding the customization possible on the WilsonWeb interface, users
can now select various languages (English, German, French, Italian,
Spanish, and Portuguese) for some of the key navigational buttons on the
interface: Basic Search, Advanced Search, Browse, Thesaurus, Print Email
Save, and Exporting/Citing. This is in addition to customization already
possible from the Administrator’s Module, including a number of buttons
whose text can be customized for a specific language. The default
settings will return when the user ends the session.

8 — A new holdings ("Library Owns?") icon for the
Essay and General Literature database book parts record has been
added
The Library Owns? icon has been added to the Book Parts (book chapters)
record. It is a link to the Library’s OPAC system for the book that
includes the book parts.
9 — Database Selection Area - open or closed default
setting
An Administrator’s Module option for a default setting that permits the
Database Selection area to be open or closed upon authentication into
WilsonWeb. The system default setting is to have the Database Selection
area in the “open” position.
10 — We've added a 3rd and 4th interface color
choice, now totaling 4
Available interface colors for the WilsonWeb interface are being
expanded from the Blue (default) or Red, to include green and orange.
The user can select their “favorite” color on the Customize Display page
that will remain for the duration of the session. System Administrators
may change the default color in the Administrator’s Module, as well.

11 — Alphabetical groupings of journal names (A, B,
C etc.) have been added to the Journal Directory.
Making it easier to find a specific journal among the thousands of
journals available for viewing within a database, the Journal Directory
will now provide a navigational list of characters (A through Z) to
facilitate the location of journals by the first character in their
name.

12 — "Single View" of records now includes Full
Text, when available
When a user clicks on the title of a record, a “Single View” of a record
in the HTML format is displayed. In addition to the full citation, the
record now includes the HTML Full Text, when available. Plus, a new
“Translate full text” button will be available from this page, as well.
13 — Modified text on the Prepend Proxy page found
in the Administrator's Module
The text next to the text entry box will say “Proxy Server URL,”
clarifying the purpose of the text entry box for administrators.
14 — New "Back" link for No-results page and for
Spell Check page
When a user gets no results from a search, or the system has offered a
spelling that is not correct, we have added a “Back” link on these
pages, returning the user directly to the search screen.
15 — Updated citing options for Biographies and Art
Museum Image Gallery
The citing options (Email Print Save page, or Exporting/Citing page)
have now been expanded to give automatic citing of records in the MLA
and APA formats for biography and Art Museum Image Gallery databases.
